According to a study in the journal Behavioral and Brain Sciences, the Baltic States are a hedonist’s paradise, a magical land of one night stands, adultery and devil-may-care casual encounters.
But don't get too excited, it’s because all the men are dead of suicides and accidents. Apparently, societies with a low ratio of men to women have the lowest rates of monogamy. While Romania and Ukraine ranked as relative bastions of monogamy, Slovenia, Lithuania, Latvia and Croatia scored among the highest in the world for casual sex.
Unfortunately, the study did not include a sample from Russia. However, given that most Russian men now have the life expectancy of a fruit fly, we can only assume what it means for “the abandonment of the so-called monogamous sexual relationship."
