Lata Lada!

That's what the Cuban government is saying, according to the New York Times.

"Government officials and the police are abandoning the Lada, with its stiff manual steering, in favor of the smooth hydraulics of the Chinese-made Geely CK, a modern sedan that symbolizes the island’s new alliance with Beijing."

All the same, many everyday citizens still love their - let's call them vintage - ladas. The Russian Automobile Club of Cuba still meets every month in Lenin Park near Havana to show off and talk about their ladas. The members claim the Chinese cars are just a fad, while ladas, well ladas are forever. "You can fix them with a piece of string."

Cubans, you really need to get capitalism back. You really shouldn't be this dazzled by ladas. Your heads will explode from the over stimulation when you get to Miami.

Simplicity is its own virtue.

Is having lots of glittering lights and increasing your CO2 emissions really the road to happiness?

Cubans have the world's only sustainable society, and for that I salute them!

I'm sorry, I didn't realize Ladas made hybrids.
