According the Polish Daily, Gazeta Wyborcza, Russia wants to correct some basic misconceptions about the start of World War II. Apparently this statement is now posted on the Russian ministry of defense website (russophone friends, please feel free to verify translation):
"Everyone who without prejudice studied the history of the second world war know that it started because Poland did not want to meet German demands. However, not many know exactly what Hitler demanded from Warsaw. German demands on Warsaw were very moderate: - including the free city of Danzig (now Gdansk) into the Third Reich, permitting for the building of extrateritorial railway that would connect East Prussia with the majority of Germany. It is difficult to call these demands unjustified."
I'm starting to get really confused about what Russia thinks WWII was really about. I thought they disliked fascists...but apparently appeasing their extra territorial claims is ok?

"Extraterritorial railway" must have worked like it did in the U.S., where you need a buffer zone from North Dakota to New Mexico to connect New York to San Francisco!

I browsed through the the MoD website and did not find the questionable quotation. Failure to back this up will put question marks over Gazeta Wyborcza's (not to mention your own) reliability.
There have always been question marks over our reporting, thanks to a wild disregard for standards.

We should note that the post 1) sourced the orig. article, 2) included a working hyperlink, 3) offered an English translation of the Polish text, and 4) commented on the content with pluck and bit of cheek -- rather than making any claims as to the verasity or discovery of the orig. content.

Since this post is about rewriting history, I think it would be doubly entertaining if Poles were rewriting what Russians think about their history.
I'm afraid I can't help with the original Russian version, but this was covered as well by an AP writer in English. Maybe the details in this article could help our intrepid readers track down the original text. Unless it was taken down already?

Слушайте, ну сколько можно уже встречать этого тигра!? Уже как-то поднадоели эти праздники, наверное на самом деле нужно было куда-нибудь ехать, а не ваньку валять все 10 дней. Уже реально делать нечего - дома прибралась, отмыла и отчистила всё что только можно, встретили всей толпой Хэппи Нью Еар, отошли от его отмечания, доели и допили всё, что осталось от новогодней пьян.. ночи :) Отошли от доедания и допивания, смотались на природу, пожарили курочку на гриле, покатались на горных лыжах, сходили в боулинг, в кино поглядели мультик Элвин и Бурундуки, покатались с горок на ватрушках, в гостях у мамы побывала. Сегодня утром проснулась и осознала, что впереди ещё 5 дней отдыха. Чем заняться ещё, уже ума не приложу. Кто вообще чем занимается в этот мини-отпуск, поделитесь со мной идеями.
ЗЫ И правда говорят, что 10 дней отдыха - это удар, но не только по экономике страны, но и про нам самим)))

На днях сходили с коллегами на киносеанс Нашей Раши, хочется поделиться впечатлениями, пока свежи воспоминания и горячи эмоции. Сразу хочу оговориться - посмотреть фильм стоит. Новая лента Камеди Клаб Продакшн выигрывает у своих предшественников – “самых лучших фильмов» сразу по нескольким критериям. Во-первых, это актёрский состав. Несложно догадаться, что больше 1/2 ролей в фильме исполняют Маша Галустян и Светлаков. Конечно, не хочется говорить, что фильм выехал только на них, но если бы не эти ребята, фильм смотрелся бы достаточно убого. Конечно, может быть мы все уже привыкли и полюбили персонажей из сериала Наша Russia, и именно поэтому в кино мы шли без большой доли скептицизма. И это уже пункт 2: бренд нашей Раши. Ну и в третьих, это какой-никакой, но сюжет - последовательность действий, которые мало-помалу развиваются от начала, и имеют логическую (или не совсем) концовку. Чего почти что не было в самых лучших фильмах - где грубо говоря была последовательность миниатюр, кое как скреплённых общей ниточкой меж собой.
Конечно, фильм Наша Раша Яйца Судьбы не без коясков - это порой уже потёртые шутки, а некоторые моменты можно было обыграть и развить получше. Слишком мало в действии мы увидели Ивана Дулина, Настю Кузнецову, Снежану Денисовну, Славика с Димоном. Ну и, если честно, не очень порадовала концовка, которая оказалась как то очень смятой, скоротечной, и при этом предсказуемой. Но, несмотря на это, фильм всё же понравился. Конечно создатели постарались, чтобы зрители выходили из зала с улыбкой на лице, и в финальные титры "посадили" Сергея Юрьевича Белякова, который в пух и прах разложил всех создателей и участников фильма, кроме себя любимого. Ход сыграл на все сто!!!
