It looks like Russians aren’t the only ones hooked on slot machines. EurasiaNet has a fantastic photo essay on the proliferation of gambling in Georgia.
"One of Soloxashvili’s patients, a heroin addict, first walked into a Tbilisi slot parlor three years go and won 40 lari (about $24). He returned daily after that, and although he has been off heroin or a year-and-a-half, he continues to play the slots."As in Russia, gambling is especailly prevalent among Georgia's poor and unemployed.
