His name is Nino. He's apparently gay. And he's pulling huge crowds at the Poznan Zoo. But that's not stoping Polish zookeepers from importing a special-order elehpant all the way from Holland just to see if they can seduce Nino back to the other team.
Ladies and Gentlemen, we may have just found our mascot: Poland's gay elephant (story in Russian).
Thanks Amichka!
Oh, but it gets better. Conservative Law and Justice (PiS) party deputy Michal Grzes quipped, “We didn’t pay 37 million zlotys ($11 million) for the largest elephant house in Europe to have a gay elephant live there.” According to the PiS deputy, the animal was removed from Warsaw Zoo because it was interested only in other males and was aggressive towards females.

ReplyDeleteThat quote is so awesome, Leopolis.
ReplyDeleteYou should know that Nino in Georgia is a common girl's name. Maybe that's why (s)he is interested in males.
